As children, we were probably at the most active age in our lives, so we should take inspiration from that time and follow the example of MOVE Week National Coordinator for the Czech Republic Martin Chlumský, who represents the Czech Sokol Organisation (Sokol). His organisation has decided to bring everyone back to their childhoods by providing a collection of 24 videos on how to skip rope.
This collection of videos is part of the Sokol journal and the appendix is called “Metodické listy”, which means “Methodological lists”. It is published every 6 months to inspire new teaching methods among the Sokol trainers. For the organisation, this is a process of integrating physical activity into everyday life in a fun and informative way.
Even though the training methods are targeting Sokol trainers and Sokol members, this opens a door for everyone to try skipping rope, as it is a new sport in Czech Republic. The main purpose is to show everyone that physical activity can be fun, social, inexpensive and it can boost fitness and energy levels.
So, if you feel that you want go back in time and have fun while doing physical activity, get inspired by this active tutorial.
How long has it been since you skipped rope? Maybe you should start now!
